£60,000 Raised for Two Deserving Charities at NASC Annual Ball & Awards 2018

TRAD Group CEO and NASC President, Des Moore, presented the Lighthouse Construction Industry Charity and Demelza Hospice Care for Children with cheques for £30,000 each last week, after the charitable donations by NASC and it’s members far surpassed expections.

An initial £10,000 was presented by Des Moore to each of the charities at the black tie NASC Annual Ball & Awards event held at the Sheraton Grand Hotel & Spa, Edinburgh, last month. Des then urged members to help raise a further £5,000 for each charity through a five-lot charity auction that night. Guests dug deep with their bids and pushed the total well past each lot’s reserve prices. A number of members’ also made substantial standalone donations during the course of the evening and following weeks.

Des Moore and the NASC were delighted to reach an incredible grand total of £60,000, which was split equally between each charity.

Bill Hill, CEO of the Lighthouse Construction Industry Charity, said: “We are absolutely delighted to have received this huge donation from the NASC members. We urgently need funding to sustain our helpline services and develop our Building Mental Health programme and this money will go a long way towards making a difference to our construction families in crisis. Thank you again to all the NASC members who were so very generous.”

Ryan Campbell, CEO of Demelza Children’s Hospice Care for Children, added: “This donation and the overwhelming support we have received from the NASC and the scaffolding community is so much appreciated. This is a great boost to the care we are able to offer children with terminal conditions and their families.”
