General Manager

As a result of continued growth, we are currently looking for an experienced General Manager who will report directly to the Group CEO to join our team based in Barking & Dartford.

About the role;

  • Oversee day-to-day operations, including budget and profit responsibilities for the following elements of the business: Transport, Commercial, Facilities, Logistics and Stock Control in Barking and Dartford Locations.
  • A strong focus on Health & Safety
  • Help with the preparation and maintain Budgets
  • Evaluate and improve operational and financial performance
  • Direct the employee assessment process
  • Prepare regular reports for upper management
  • Attend regular meetings with the Board of Directors
  • Help with HR issues by assisting with Disciplinary hearings and dealing with Grievances
  • Ensure employees work productively and develop professionally
  • Oversee recruitment and training of new employees
  • Help with the Marketing of the business
  • Commercial Acumen in Surveying and Estimating



  • Proven experience as a General Manager or similar executive role
  • Be able to properly motivate and manage teams and employees
  • Knowledge of business process and functions (finance, HR, procurement, operations, marketing etc,)
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and oral
  • Outstanding organisational and strong leadership skills
  • Problem-solving aptitude & attitude



An excellent remuneration package will be offered to the successful applicant including above average salary, company car/car allowance, subsidised Gym membership, entry into bonus, health and pension schemes and flexible working patterns will also be considered where appropriate.
